Welcome to J Dixon & Sons, a friendly, family run business. For three generations we have been specializing in the manufacture and installation of high quality joinery.

Our recent installation this beautiful cyan coloured traditional wooden door with glass lite inset in transom and centre glass lite in centre panel to offset 14 inner panels.

Wooden steps in our workshop all finished and ready to install on site, this is a great example of the diverse type of work we get commissioned to build.

Example of some of the traditional woodwork we have worked on, this example of a gallows bracket is made in solid wood and will last for hundreds of years.

For over 95 years we have been trading in the local district with the manufacture and installation of all forms of joinery.

J Dixon and Sons manufacture a wide range of joinery products in all types of timbers. We produce high quality timber windows in hardwood and softwood, all to current regulation and to any specification supplied by architects or clients. We undertake bespoke joinery items such as cupboards made from a range of veneered boards and also fitted kitchen and bedroom installations. As well as new works, we also carry out repairs and maintenance on existing properties, including roofing and plastering repairs. We are happy to help and advise as and when any problems occur. Supply and fitting of fire doors all to current industry standards is a speciality.

In 2011 Lancaster Castle ceased to be the County Prison and in recent times we have been involved in restoration projects, many parts of which are now open to the public.

One of Lancaster’s oldest buildings is the Judge’s Lodgings an elegant grade 1 listed building, we were privileged to be involved in the period restoration of some of the rooms. The building is now open as a museum

Our range of expertise and skill has taken us to involvement with projects for many local schools, as well the the Church of England Diocese of Blackburn i.e. listed and worship buildings.
